Let's make it.

  1. Chill your coupe

Place your coupe in the refrigerator until cold. Prepare the other ingredients while it chills.

  2. Moisten half the rim

Run a lime wedge around the outside of half the rim. Keep the inside and the other half dry.

  3. Dress half the rim

Touch only the moistened half to a shallow plate of salt, then lift and tap off loose grains. Skip the salt if you prefer a bare rim.

  4. Measure your mix

Measure tequila, triple sec and fresh lime juice into a shaker.

  5. Ice into the shaker

Add ice to the open shaker, leaving room to close it securely.

  6. Shake it cold

Secure both parts and shake for about 12 seconds.

  7. Keep it crisp

Strain into the chilled coupe, leaving the shaking ice behind.

  8. A little lime

Rest a thin lime wheel on the rim.
