What this covers

This policy covers the Pony cocktail app and mixwithpony.com. The sections about purchases, accounts and backup apply when you use those optional features in the app.

Using the app without an account

You can use Pony as a guest. Your welcome-screen completion, drink preferences, bar ingredients, saved recipes and Passport progress are stored on your device. These records are not uploaded to cloud backup unless you choose to sign in.

The app may connect to its purchase provider to check product availability and subscription access even when you do not create a Pony account. Guest use does not mean that every service connection is disabled.

Optional accounts & backup

If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, the authentication service processes your provider identifier, the profile information made available by that provider, such as your email address, and session information. Pony uses Supabase for authentication and cloud storage of your preferences, bar, saved recipes and progress.

Authentication sessions are stored securely by the app. Where needed for Sign in with Apple revocation, an encrypted Apple authorization token is kept on the server. We do not receive or store your Apple or Google password.

Cloud records remain associated with your account until you remove the relevant records or delete the account. Changing devices or signing out does not by itself delete your cloud account.

Subscriptions

Apple or Google handles payment. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts, subscription status and an app user identifier so Pony can provide, restore and update Plus access. Pony does not receive your full payment-card details.

A guest purchase uses a purchase-provider identifier. If you later create a Pony account, subscription access can be associated with your account identifier. Payment and statutory records retained by the stores or service providers are governed by their own obligations and policies.

Optional product analytics

Product analytics in the app is off until you opt in. With your permission, PostHog receives selected usage events, such as opening a recipe or completing a guide, together with a random analytics identifier and limited app/version/operating-system information.

We do not send raw search text, email addresses, authentication credentials or tokens in these events. Session replay, automatic screenshots, automatic screen tracking and location enrichment are disabled.

You can turn analytics off in Settings. Pony stops sending new product analytics and discards unsent events. Data already transmitted cannot be recalled from an in-flight request; contact us if you want help with deletion of previously collected information. Turning analytics off does not disable the account or purchase services needed for features you choose.

This website

The site does not run product analytics, advertising pixels or session replay, and its interactive demonstrations do not save your selections to a profile. Fonts, illustrations and video are served with the site.

Vercel hosts the website and Cloudflare provides domain/DNS infrastructure. Infrastructure providers may process technical connection information, such as IP addresses, request details and security logs, to deliver and protect their services. Following a link to Instagram or another website takes you to that provider's service and privacy policy.

Why information is used

We use information to provide the features you request, maintain and protect the service, answer support requests, and comply with applicable obligations. Optional product analytics relies on your choice to enable it. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the relevant basis may be performance of a requested service, consent, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.

We do not sell your personal information or use it to target advertising.

Service providers & international processing

Pony uses Supabase for account data, RevenueCat for subscription access and PostHog's EU project for opted-in product analytics. The website uses Vercel and Cloudflare. If you contact us, the communication provider also processes your message. Apple, Google and Instagram process information under their own policies when you use their services.

Providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Regional project settings do not mean that every provider's operational or support processing occurs exclusively in that region.

Deletion, retention & your choices

You can edit your saved drinks and bar in the app. You can delete your account from Settings or make a request through the account and data deletion page. Guest data is separate from a cloud account; uninstalling the app or clearing its local app data removes its local records, subject to any device backup you control.

Account deletion removes the active Pony cloud account and its associated preferences, bar, favourites and progress. Provider security logs, purchase records or records required by law may follow separate retention periods. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction or objection, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us to exercise a right or ask about retention.

Age & changes to this policy

Pony is intended for adults of legal drinking age where they live and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.

We may update this policy when the product or its providers change. The date above identifies the current published version; material changes will be brought to your attention where required.
